4 How the electrical room heater works, 5 Operation
6 Troubleshooting, 7 Maintenance
The Vaillant VER electrical room heaters are used as
flat, wall-mounted units for warming and heating rooms
used for short periods such as bathrooms, kitchens or
hobby rooms. They allow the temperature to be control-
led precisely by means of an adjustable electronic ther-
mostat with frost protection.
The housing of the special heating element is provided
with air slots underneath and at the front.
The air is heated by free convection without a fan. The
cold air to be heated enters the unit from underneath,
flows across the special heating element and exits as
warm air via the air outlet grill. The convector is fitted
with an electronic thermostat on the upper right side of
the unit. The thermostat allows the temperature to be
set variably by means of a dial.

Operation

a
Danger!
Risk of fire due to objects near to the unit
become hot!
The temperature of the housing can exceed
60°C.
> Never cover the room heater, not even for
a short time.
> Never position objects close to the unit,
e.g. to dry them.
5.1

Switching the unit on and off

The unit is switched off when the symbol " " is visible.
Automatic control is then not possible. Frost protection
is also turned off.
The unit is switched on when the symbol "I" is visible.
The built-in room thermostat keeps the room constantly
at the desired temperature.
5.2

Setting the thermostat

First set the thermostat to position 9. Once the desired
room temperature is reached, turn the thermostat back
until you hear a clicking sound. The room temperature
will now remain constant. The required thermostat posi-
tion depends not only on the desired temperature but
also on the temperature behaviour and the characteris-
tics of the room to be heated.
If a room that is not used is to be protected from frost,
set the electronic thermostat to position "*".
Guidelines for setting the temperature:
– Position for frost protection "*": approx. 4°C
– Position "5" (middle position): approx. 20°C

If the VER does not give off any heat, please check,
– whether the on/off switch is set to "I",
– whether the thermostat is set to the desired tempera-
ture and
– whether the mains fuse is in order.

Maintenance

The permanent operational readiness, safety, reliability
and long service life of your VER electrical room heater
require annual inspections and maintenance work to be
carried out by a competent person.
a
Danger.
Risk of injury and material damage due to
incorrect maintenance and repairs.
If you fail to carry out maintenance, or if you
carry this out incorrectly, this may adversely
affect the operating reliability of the unit.
> Never attempt to perform maintenance
work or repairs on your boiler by yourself.
> Always employ a specialist heating com-
pany to perform such work. We recommend
entering into a maintenance agreement.
