Location selection

Smoke alarm devices with radio
links should be installed in the midd-
le of the room on the ceiling as the
minimum equipment in all bedrooms,
children's rooms and lobbies that serve
as emergency escape routes (Illus. 4).
Select the highest possible point for
assembly with a minimum distance of
0.5m from the surrounding walls, fur-
niture and lamps. The device must be
installed horizontally. The smoke alarm
device with radio link will be attached
in the middle in rooms and lobbies with
width less than 1m. The distance of at
least 0.5m from the wall cannot be kept
in such a case.
The distance between two smoke
alarm devices with radio links may be
a maximum of 15m in lobbies with a
width of max. 3m. The distance of the
first alarm from the face (end of the
lobby) may be a maximum of 7.5m.
