In the "Automatic grinding" function, a short press of the button is enough to start
grinding. The grinder stops automatically once the pre-programmed amount of
coffee powder has been expelled.
– Briefly press the START / PAUSE / CANCEL button or press your portafilter against
the ON / OFF portafilter switch beneath the coffee powder outlet to push it in-
wards.
– The grinding process stops automatically once the pre-programmed amount of
coffee powder has been expelled.

Note: It is normal that the coffee powder in the portafilter seems like too much after
grinding – untamped, the volume of the coffee powder is three times larger than
when it's tamped.

You can pause the grinding process at any time, e.g. to tamp down a little on the
coffee powder in the portafilter.
– Briefly press the START / PAUSE / CANCEL button to start the grinding process.
– During the grinding process, you can press the START / PAUSE / CANCEL button
again and stop the grinding process for 10 seconds. During this time, the button
surround around START / PAUSE / CANCEL flashes.
– If you press the START / PAUSE / CANCEL button again within these 10 seconds,
the grinding process is completed. If you do not press the button again within
these 10 seconds, the grinding process is not continued.

You can also grind manually, keeping complete control of the expelled amount of
coffee powder.
– Press the START / PAUSE / CANCEL or the ON / OFF portafilter switch beneath
the coffee powder outlet until the desired amount of coffee powder has been
expelled.
– Once you release the START / PAUSE / CANCEL button or the ON / OFF portafilter
switch, the grinding process stops.
