Press the START / PAUSE / CANCEL button and the appliance grinds the desired
amount of coffee powder according to the active settings. The GRIND TIME display
counts down to "0.0". Then the grinder stops automatically. Should you wish to
briefly pause the grinding process, please read the corresponding information on
the "Pause function" on page 75.
Now, prepare an espresso using this grind size and check if the espresso should be
stronger (Finer grind size / increase amount of powder) or milder (Coarser grind size
/ decrease amount of power). By default, a single espresso is defined with approx.
30 ml in 30 seconds, a double espresso with approx. 60 ml in 30 seconds.
Notes:
You can grind directly into your portafilter even if it does not fit into the brackets
supplied. Without the bracket attached, you can hold the portafilter beneath the
coffee powder outlet and press the portafilter switch with your finger or the porta-
filter itself.
It is normal for the correct amount of coffee to appear overfilled in your portafilter.
Untamped coffee is three times the volume of tamped coffee.
