Parallel port
To allow printers to be recognized at the parallel port, the Ip module must be loaded (again as of openSUSE 11.4): Yast ->
System ->/etc/sysconfig Editor -> System -> Kernel -> MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT lp.
After this, the printer driver can be installed as follows:
● Printer Konica Minolta magicolor 4650 connected to LPT.
● YaST ➜ Hardware ➜ Printer ➜ Add
● Printer Konica Minolta magicolor 4650 is detected automatically
● Driver M4650PX.ppd installed from accompanying CD
● Driver KONICA MINOLTA mc4650 selected
● Print test page printed successfully (Cups Printer Test Page including Color Wheel).
USB Flash Drive
● Flash drive used: Siemens SIMATIC IPC USB Flash drive 8 GB (6ES7648-0DC50-0AA0).
● When the USB flash drive is inserted into a USB port, it is detected automatically, for example, as device /dev/sdc.
● The Dolphin File Manager mounts the USB flash drive, for example, as /media/FLASHDRIVE.
