1. Overview

1-1. Introduction

The Magnescale SR-801 or SR-801R is a linear scale of modular construction in which the head
assembly is incorporated into the body of the scale. The relative position of the scale and the
head has been factory set with a jig block, therefore no field adjustment is required.
The scale is paired with a digital counter which displays linear displacement or position.
The result is a great saving in labor and increased work efficiency.
A digital counter of the LH31A should be used with the SR-801 scale.
The SR-801 type R scale can be connected to an LH41 digital display with a head amplifier HK
cable and a SZ05 connecting adaptor.
When both the scale and head amplifier connector cable are purchased together, the scale and
head amplifier are already electrically adjusted for each axis.
The head amplifier has a COMBINATION No. to match the scale's SERIAL No., so check both of
these before use.
If the scale and cable are purchased separately, or when connecting to a detector, electrical
adjustment must be carried out.
