5. Inserting (replacing) batteries

‡ Pull off the battery compartment cover.
‡ Insert 2 LR6 (mignon/AA) batteries in the battery compart-
ment according to their polarity (see markings).
‡ Put back the battery compartment cover and latch it
into position.
The service life of new alkaline batteries is approximately
