CD CHANGER
(press CD to select CD mode)
GENERAL INFORMATION
• To remove a CD from its case,
hold it on its outside edge the the index
finger and thumb.
• Do not touch the surface of a CD with

your fingers.

• Always store a CD in its case when it is
not being used.
• Place a CD in its case with the label
facing up and press down lightly.
• Do not leave CD's for any length of time in direct sunlight or other places
where high temperatures may occur, such as in the vicinity of heating appa-
raturs. Do not expose the CD's to humidity or rain.
SELECTING CD
• If you select CD and have not inserted a
CD, 'NO DISC D1' appears on the dis-
play.
– After the CD has been selected, it is always
in the STOP mode.
INSERTING ONE OR SEVERAL CD'S
You can insert up to 7 CD's into the unit.
• Use DISC and afterwards (within 2 seconds) the 3 / 4 keys to select the
compartment in which you wish to insert the CD or the CD you wish to play.
• You can also use the keys 1...7 on the unit.
– The dimmed LED's on your Space Fidelity indicate the compartments in
which a CD is inserted, and the bright LED indicates the selected compart-
ment. If the selected compartment is empty, it will move out.
– E.g. If a CD is loaded in compartment 1, 2, 3 and 4 and compartment 2 is
selected the lighting of the LED's will be as follows:

DISC SELECT
• Press the DISC / OPEN/CLOSE button on the unit.
– The display will indicate 'OPEN' and the number of the corresponding CD
compartment.
• Place a CD into the compartment
with the printed side up.
12 cm
– In addition to standard 12 cm CD´s,
you can also play 8 cm CD´s
8 cm
without an adaptor only in the
DISC 1 compartment.
• Press the DISC / OPEN/CLOSE
button to close the compartment.
– The CD compartment can also be closed by hand.
– The display shows CLOSE D1.
– After the compartment has closed, the unit reads the contents of the CD.
During this time the display shows READING D1.
– After a few seconds, the total playing time
and the number of titles on the CD appear
on the display.
Warning!
This set is designed for normal CDs. Therefore, do not use any accessories like
disc stabilizer rings or CD treatment sheets, etc. as offered on the market,
because it may cause jamming of the changer mechanism.
Do not load more than 1 disc into 1 tray.
PLAYING AN ENTIRE CD (FROM STOP)
• Press B.
– Playback begins with the first title.
– The display shows the current title number and the title´s elapsed playing
time.
– If you have inserted only one CD, after all the titles have played, the CD play-
er stops, and the total number of titles as well as the total playing time appe-
ar in the display.
– If you have inserted several CD's, the unit will select the next CD and then
resume CD play
• To stop playback, press 9.
• To interrupt playback, press ; .
• To resume playback, press B.
Note: You can also simply press the B key instead of the DISC /
OPEN/CLOSE button after inserting a CD.
The CD compartment closes, and playback begins.
SELECTING A DIFFERENT TITLE DURING PLAYBACK
• Press repeatedly on 3 or 4 until the desired title number appears in the dis-
play.
– After a brief time, the title is played.
REPEATING A TITLE (RESTART)
• Briefly press B.
– The title is repeated from the beginning.
SEARCH FUNCTION
• Hold Q or R pressed down to reach the desired point on the CD. As
soon as you release the key, playback resumes.
Note: This function can be described as "audibly" searching for a title.
During the search, volume is reduced and returns to its normal level as soon as
the key is released.

SHUFFLE PLAY (RANDOM PLAYBACK)
You can play all the titles on a CD in random order.
• To do so, press first MODE and afterwards (within 3 seconds) the + or – key
– The display shows the selected shuffle mode:
SHUFFLE ONE - SHUFFLE ALL - SHUFFLE OFF.
SHUFFLE ONE: the tracks on the selected CD will be played in random
order.
SHUFFLE ALL: the tracks on all inserted CD's will be played in random
order.
SHUFFLE OFF: the shuffle function is switched off.
You can also play the titles of a programme in random order.
The shuffle function is also cleared when you press 9 or when the CD compart-
ment is opened.
REPEAT PLAYBACK
If you want to listen to a CD or a CD programme more than once without having
to start playback again, you can do so with the REPEAT function.
• Press first MODE and afterwards (within 3 seconds) the 3 or 4 key
– The display shows the selected repeat mode:
REPEAT ALL - REPEAT OFF.
REPEAT ALL: all inserted CD's are repeated from the beginning till the
end. The display shows ∫.
REPEAT OFF: the repeat function is switched off.
The repeat function is cleared when you press 9 or when the CD compartment
is opened.
ASSIGNING DISC TITLES
You can assign disc titles to 125 different CD's, and store this in the memory.
Once the title of a disc has been stored, this will always appear on the display
every time the disc is selected. The title remains in the memory even if the set is
switched off or if the disc is removed from the set and put back in.
• Keep pressed until the first character on the display starts flashing.
• With + and – you can move the cursor in the desired direction. You can enter
up to eleven characters.
• With 3 and 4, you can move forward and backward through the alphabet,
the numbers 0-9 and the space key.
• When you are ready to conclude an input and exit the input mode to store a
name, press or MEMORY.
Clearing a disc title
• If you wish to clear an existing title, first press until the first character on
the display starts flashing.
• Then press CANCEL. The title is now erased.
Clearing all the disc titles
• Press until the first character on the display starts flashing.
• Then, press CANCEL and hold it pressed down for 10 seconds.
– First 'ERASE ?' appears on the display.
If you release the key, the erase function is not carried out.
However, if you keep the key depressed the title memory is deleted and the
message 'E2P ERASED' appears briefly on the display.
PLAYING TITLES IN A SPECIFIC SEQUENCE
(PROGRAMME)
You can store up to 70 titles on a max. of 7 CD's to create your own
programme.
• Place one (to seven) CD(s) into the CD compartment(s) with the printed side
up.
• Press MEMORY and, if you have inserted several CD´s, select the desired
disc compartment.
• Press 3 or 4 to move to a specific title.
• After you have found the desired title number, store the title by pressing
MEMORY again.
– The display shows the number of the
stored title.
• Repeat these steps to select other titles you
would like to store.
– As soon as you select the 71th title,
'FULL' appears in the display.
VIEWING THE TITLES OF A PROGRAMME
• Hold MEMORY pressed down for at least 2 seconds.
– The currently programmed titles are then displayed one after another.
PLAYING A PROGRAMME
• Press B.
– Playback begins with the first title of the programme.
– After all the titles have been played, the display shows the total number of
tracks and the total playing time of the last played disc.
CLEARING TITLES FROM A PROGRAMME
• To clear a specific title from a programme, hold MEMORY pressed down for
2 seconds.
– The current programme´s titles are then displayed.
• When the title you wish to clear appears in the display, press CANCEL.
• If you want to clear a specific title and you are not in the programme mode,
press the 3 or 4 key to go to the title you want to clear.
• When the number of the title you wish to clear appears in the display, press
CANCEL.
• To clear all the titles of a programme, stop the CD player and press CANCEL
for more than 1 second.
– 'PRG ERASED' appears in the display.
Note:
Opening and closing the CD compartment also clears the programme.
You can only clear all the titles when the CD player is stopped.
