Getting Started
a) Inserting the batteries into the transmitter
• Use the ON/OFF switch to switch the transmitter off.
• Undo the screw on the lid of the battery compartment using a suitable screwdriver and
remove the lid.
• Insert 4 batteries of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity into the battery compartment
(observe positive/+ and negative/-; see symbol in the battery compartment and on the
batteries).
• Close the battery compartment again by tightly screwing the battery compartment lid shut.
Using rechargeable batteries in the transmitter reduces operation time. Also, the
model hovercraft's rechargeable battery cannot be sufficiently charged using the
USB charging cable.
b) Charging the hovercraft's battery
Charging via the transmitter:
• Switch off both the hovercraft and the transmitter.
• Connect the circular input pin of the USB charging cable to the corresponding jack on
the underside of the model. Next, connect the USB pin on the USB input cable to the
corresponding jack on the transmitter.
• Start the charging process by moving the sliding switch to the "CHARGE" position. During
charging an LED lights up on the USB charging cable.
• Once the hovercraft's battery is fully charged the LED on the charging cable goes out.
Switch the transmitter off and disconnect the USB charging cable from the hovercraft and
the transmitter.
Charging via USB hub, computer or USB power supply:
• Switch off both the hovercraft and the transmitter.
• Connect the circular input pin of the USB charging cable to the corresponding jack on the
underside of the hovercraft. Next, connect the USB pin on the USB charging cable to the
USB input of a USB hub, a computer or a USB power supply; (none of these are included
in the delivery).
Only use a USB hub with its own power supply since otherwise, the energy supply
might not be sufficient. USB ports on computers normally only provide power when
the computer is switched on. The computer does not recognise new hardware when
the USB charging cable is inserted.
• During charging an LED lights up on the USB charging cable.
• Once the hovercraft's battery is fully charged the LED on the charging cable goes out.
Disconnect the USB charging cable from the model and from the hub, computer or USB
supply.
c) Switching the hovercraft and transmitter on
• First, switch the hovercraft on (the switch is located underneath). Place the model on a flat,
level surface (floor).
• Switch on the transmitter (switch position "ON"). The power LED on the transmitter will flash
slowly.
• Move the left joystick once completely forward and then back again to its start position
(release the joystick). The power LED will now flash rapidly and then stay alight constantly.
This indicates that a digital connection has been established between the transmitter and the
hovercraft and the hovercraft is ready to operate.
Should the power LED not stay constantly alight or the hovercraft does not react,
repeat the above steps.
d) Steering the model hovercraft
• Use the left joystick to steer the hovercraft forwards (move the joystick forwards). If the model
hovercraft stops, move the joystick into its start position (towards you) then release it.
• The right joystick allows you choose direction, (to steer left move the joystick left, to steer
right move it to the right).
The large propeller in the hull is there to create an air cushion under the hovercraft.
Change of direction is achieved via differing rotational speeds of the stern propeller.
It is best to operate the hovercraft on a smooth surface (e.g., Parquet or laminate
flooring).
e) Setting straight-running stability
The rotary dial (4) under the right joystick can be used to set the straight-running stability during
operation.
Stop operating
First switch off the hovercraft, then switch off the transmitter.
If the hovercraft will not be used over a prolonged period, charge the Li-Ion- rechargeable bat-
tery in the hovercraft at least every 3 months, so that it does not drain completely. This would
cause permanent damage to the Li-Ion-battery! Remove also the batteries from the transmitter,
since worn out batteries can leak, which leads to damage to the transmitter.
Care and Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the product, switch the product off.
Never use abrasive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these
could damage the casing or even impair operation.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product. Dust can be easily removed with a soft, clean
brush.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable and do not belong in the household waste. Dis-
pose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-
tions.
Remove any inserted batteries from the battery compartment of the transmitter and
dispose of them separately from the product.
b) Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required, by law, (Battery Ordinance) to return all spent batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the
symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The
symbols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead
(the marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., underneath the
refuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official col-
lection points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable
batteries are sold.
That way you fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environ-
ment.
