• The pins of the power plug must be smooth and clean without dis-
colourations. Always handle power cords with care. Do not place the
appliance on a power cord. Power cords may never be knotted, twisted,
pulled, strained or squeezed. Do not let the plug or power cord hang
over the edge of the table or counter. The power cord may never touch
hot surfaces, sharp edges, or any moving parts. Ensure that no one will
pull the appliance by the power cord. Take care not to entangle in the
power cord. Always grasp the plug to disconnect the power cord. Do
not touch the appliance or power plug with wet hands with the appliance
connected to the power supply.
• Do not place or immerse the power base or power cord in water or
any other liquid. DO NOT spill or drip any liquids in or on the power
base or the power cord to avoid risk of fire and electric shock. When
liquids accumulate in or under the power base or run down on the exteri-
or, immediately unplug the appliance. Refer to the instructions in chapter
'Solving Problems'.
• Do not place the power base on a metal surface to avoid high risk of
electric shock, overheating, or fire, if liquids are spilled or run out,
• For filling in liquids, always remove the milk jug from the power base.
HIGH TEMPERATURE – RISK OF BURNS
The »Design Milk & Chocolate Advanced« is intended for heating
up beverages. Thus, the appliance could cause scalds, burns and dama-
ge, when used improperly.
• Always hold the milk jug level when filled, to avoid spilling. The milk
jug and the contents may be hot even for some time after operation.
Always leave the appliance cool down before cleaning and storing.
• Even with the lid closed properly, hot steam and splashes could
escape during operation. Do not hold your face or other parts of your
body over the milk jug during operation to avoid scalds.
• Even the exterior of the power base and milk jug will get hot during
