Adjusting the chin-neck strap
The F 120 Pro is fitted with a 4-point chinstrap, the vertically running cheek
strap of which is linked via cheek straps to the rear of the helmet shell to
prevent helmet shift. Correctly adjusted, the two neck straps must rest firmly
against your neck just below the ears and the cheek straps likewise just behind
the tip of your chin. If you need to adjust the 4-point chinstrap, do so as
follows:
a) Take off the helmet and lay it with its peak pointing towards your body.
b) Lift up the sweatband.
c)
Undo and remove the two exposed nuts at the rear, holding the screws
from the outside with the help of the hexagon screwdriver.
d) You can shorten the neck straps by adjusting them one hole higher or
lengthen them by adjusting them one hole lower.
e) Replace and tighten the nuts.
Adjustment of the cheek strap is done in a similar way. The fastening screws
for this are located at left and right in the helmet shell.
Attention: The SCHUBERTH F 120 Pro helmet meets the requirements of
standard DIN EN 443:2008 for the restraint system if the chinstrap supplied
by the manufacturer is worn and adjusted pursuant to these regulations.
Cleaning and care
The helmet shell and inner lining should only be cleaned with lukewarm
soapy water. The lining of the helmet can also be treated with disinfectant
(e.g. Heliosept Medical Spray). Use only approved cleaning products and
disinfectants. Do not use any solvents.

Changes to the helmet
Attention: The standard version of your helmet meets the applicable
standards and it must therefore not be changed or equipped with
third-party components or accessories of any kind. The replacement of
individual components is only permitted if they are of the same type as
the individual components of the type-approved helmet, or if they have
been specially approved for replacement by SCHUBERTH. Incorrect or
third-party internal features, the subsequent drilling of holes for
accessories or any other changes to the helmet may affect the protective
function and void the certification. Only accessories that are suitable for
the SCHUBERTH F 120 Pro must be used. If in doubt, please contact
SCHUBERTH.
Service life - firefighter's helmet
The length of the service life of this helmet is influenced by the material(s)
used in its construction, as well as by the environment in which the helmet
is used and stored (according to EN 443:2008). This firefighter's helmet with
painted shell, which is made of modified high temperature-resistant
thermoset material (high temp fibre) has excellent resistance to ageing and
undergoes no change when it is exposed to direct sunlight (UV radiation).
The service life of these helmets is limited mainly by mechanical, thermal,
weather-related and chemical impacts. Care, regular maintenance and the
type of use also play a role.
Thermoset materials (such as the high temp fibre used) are generally
considered to be highly resistant to these stresses. Their resistance to
weather-related, chemical and thermal stresses is clearly far greater than
that of thermoplastic materials.
Attention: SCHUBERTH fire helmets have no mandatory service life or
expiry/discard date, since the maximum service life depends on the
above-mentioned effects.
Attention: To maximise the service life of the helmet, it is essential to
observe the notes outlined in the instruction sheet. In particular, this
contains notes for regular checks of the helmet's serviceability, and
guidelines for its cleaning, care, maintenance and repair. Defective or
worn helmet components are to be replaced with new original parts.
