Proof test
The ZEB indicates its tripped state with the status indication
window on the front. A tripped relay will be indicated with
an orange flag within the status indication window.
The overload relay shall undergo a proof test once in
12 months, if the device is used to protect motors in a poten-
tial explosive atmosphere. The proof test shall not be done
in an application where a motor in a potential explosive
atmosphere is protected by the device.
Uninstall the device out of the application.

Ensure that the Phase DIP switch is in position ON.

Drive an AC current through two of the three main phases,

which is higher than the lowest setting mark of the over-
load relay. This could be done by an adjustable current
source.
The overload relay must show the following reactions:
• After driving the AC current through the device, the status
LED must flash with 1 Hz (50:50).
• The overload relay must trip after 10 seconds (±2 %).
After the tripping:
• The auxiliary contact 95/96 is closed, the auxiliary contact
97/98 is open.
• The status window of the overload relay shows an orange
flag.
• The status LED of the overload relay is OFF.
Press the Reset button of the overload relay.

The orange flag should disappear.
Are all reactions of the overload relay correct, is suitable for
further use and can be installed again into the application.
