- Open the housing of the meter (three screws at the back)
- Remove the board from the housing.
- Carefully remove the upper adhesive tape from the component
strip. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the components are held in
place by the underlying sticker.
- Mount the jumpers marked J onto the board. Also mount a
jumper in both positions marked A. The connections marked B
are left open.
- Mount the resistors in the order mentioned in the parts list, i.e.
R2 to R42 including.
- Mount the capacitors C1 to C23 in the order of the parts list.
Watch the polarity with electrolytic capacitors!
- Mount the diodes D1 and D2. Watch the polarity!
- Mount the crystal XT.
- Mount the power transistor Q1. The side without print, mostly the
metal back, should be in the direction of the 10 A terminal.
- Mount the fuse holder terminals (FUSE) and put in a 200 mA
fuse.
- Mount both trimmer potentiometers VR1 and VR2.
- Mount the rotary switch (this switched can not be mounted in the
wrong position).
- Mount the heavy prefolded resistance wire (next to the terminals)
(Fig. 1). Make sure that the upper side of the wire is exactly 10
mm from the board surface.
- Mount the small cap made of hard plastic on the small switch
SW3.
DOUBLE-CHECK ALL CONNECTIONS THOROUGHLY! ALSO
BE AWARE OF SHORT-CIRCUITS BETWEEN THE CUT-OFF
CONNECTIONS OF THE DIFFERENT PARTS.
MOUNTING
- Mount the two rubber pushbuttons (for AUTO/MANU and
DC/AC) on the corresponding holders in the upper lid. Make sure
that the four pins fit into the four notches in the rubbers.
- Turn the rotary switch fully counterclockwise.
- Put the board in the upper lid. Press the board against the lid (by
holding the rotary switch) and turn the assembly over.
