1 Introduction
The Sandberg USB 3.0 Hard Disk Cloner is the
perfect solution for when you need to copy, read
and write large amounts of data quickly and
easily. The USB 3.0 connection enables you to
achieve impressive data transfer speeds of up
to 5 Gbit/sec. The cloner has two SATA slots,
so you can connect two hard disks to your PC
at the same time. The two SATA slots also allow
you to clone the contents of one hard disk to
another, without any PC connection at all.
2 Connection
1. Fit a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard disk into the cloner
so that the hard disk's connector fits the SATA
connectors in the base of the slots on the
cloner.
2. Connect the cloner to a mains socket via the
enclosed power supply. The power supply is
connected to the cloner's "DC" connector.
3. Connect the cloner to your computer using
the enclosed USB cable.

3 Installation

3.1 Installation in Windows
1. Switch on the cloner using the "On/Off"
button.
2. The connected hard disks are now shown in
the drive list on the computer. You can use
these drives in the same way as any other
drive on your computer.
3.2 Installation in Mac OS
1. Turn on the cloner by pressing the "ON"
button.
2. The dialog box "Do you want to use "(null)"
for backup with Time Machine?" appears.

3. Click "Cancel" if you do not want to use the
hard disk for backup. A new drive is created
on your computer. You can use this drive in
the same way as any other drive on your
computer.
4. Click "OK" if you want to use the hard disk
for backup with the Time Machine software.

4 Hard disk cloning
The cloner enables you to clone an entire hard
disk. Cloning takes place entirely without the
use of a computer. Follow the instructions below.
4.1 Cloning
1. Insert the hard disk that is to be cloned from
into slot A of the cloner.
2. Insert the hard disk that is to be cloned to into
slot B of the cloner.
NB: The hard disk being cloned to must have
at least the same capacity as the hard disk
being cloned from.
3. Switch on the cloner using the "On/Off"
button.
4. Hold down the "Copy" button at the back of
the cloner for 2-3 seconds until the light on
the front of the cloner begins to flash. Then
release the button. The cloning process has
begun.
IMPORTANT: All data on the hard disk in slot
B will be deleted and overwritten with data
from the hard disk in slot A.
5. You can monitor the cloning process using
the light on the front of the cloner. The light
moves from left to right. As the process
progresses, the lights on the left-hand side
will remain constantly lit and there will only
be movement on the right-hand side. Once
cloning is complete, all the lights will be
constantly lit.
