Battery Charge-control Indication
The five green LEDs on the battery charge indicator 4 indicate
the state of charge of the battery 20.
Battery Insertion/Removal (see figures A1 – A2)
 Do not use force to insert the battery. The battery is de-
signed in such a way that it can only be inserted into the
vacuum cleaner when it is in the right position.
 Keep the battery compartment and the battery bay
clean and dry at all times to ensure good, safe opera-
tion.
– Press the unlocking button 11 to open the battery com-
partment cover 12.
– Slide the battery 20 into the battery bay 19 until it audibly
clicks into place.
– To remove the battery 20, press the unlocking button 21
on the battery and pull it out of the battery bay 19.
– Close the battery compartment cover 12.
Fitting the brackets for vacuum accessories
(see figure B)
– Slide the bracket 22 for the suction tube and crevice noz-
zle firmly into the adapter provided 10 from above until it
engages.
– Slide the bracket 23 for the vacuum hose and floor nozzle
firmly into the adapter provided 7 from above and tighten
the fixing bolt 24.
Mounting the Vacuum Hose (see figure C)
– Insert the vacuum hose 13 into the hose adapter 8 until
both push-release buttons 25 on the vacuum hose engage.
Note: The friction generated by the dust in the vacuum hose
and accessory during vacuuming causes an electrostatic
charge that the user may experience as static discharge (de-
pending on environmental factors and their physiological
state).
Mounting VAC Accessories
The vacuum hose 13 is equipped with a clip system, with
which the VAC accessories (extraction adapter 14, curved
nozzle 15) can be connected.
Fitting the extraction adapter or curved nozzle
(see figure D)
– Fit the extraction adapter 14 or the curved nozzle 15 to the
vacuum hose 13 until the two snap fasteners 25 of the vac-
uum hose click into place.
– To disassemble, press both snap-fasteners 25 inward and
pull the components apart.
Mounting Nozzles and Tubes
– If required, place the suction tubes 18 firmly inside one an-
other and then attach them firmly to the curved nozzle 15.
– Attach the floor nozzle 17 or the crevice nozzle 16 firmly to
the suction tube 18 or the curved nozzle 15.
Bosch Power Tools
Operation
 Remove the battery before cleaning or performing
maintenance on the vacuum cleaner, making tool ad-
justments, changing accessories or storing the vacuum
cleaner. This safety measure prevents the vacuum cleaner
from being started accidentally.
 Ensure that the work area is clean and tidy to minimise
the risk of tripping.

Starting Operation

 The vacuum cleaner must not be used without a filter.
 Before vacuuming, ensure that the filter assembly is
assembled securely.
 Before vacuuming, ensure that the battery compart-
ment cover is securely closed.
 Only use an undamaged filter (no cracks, small holes,
etc.). Replace a damaged filter immediately.
 Please inform yourself about the valid regula-
tions/laws for your country concerning the handling of
materials that are hazardous to one's health.
The vacuum cleaner may generally not be used in rooms
where the danger of an explosion exists.
To ensure optimum suction power, you must always fully un-
wind the vacuum hose 13 from the vacuum hose bracket 23.
To save energy, only switch the vacuum cleaner on when us-
ing it.
For safety reasons, the vacuum cleaner will not switch on if
the on/off button 3 is held down for more than 5 seconds.

Dry Vacuuming

Vacuuming of deposited dust
– To switch on the vacuum cleaner, briefly press the on/off
button 3.
– To switch off the vacuum cleaner, press the On/Off button
3 again.
Extraction of dust resulting from running power tools
(see figure E)
 An adequate ventilation rate (L) must be provided for
when the outgoing air is circulated. Observe the re-
spective national regulations.
– Fit the extraction adapter 14 or the curved nozzle 15 (see
"Fitting the extraction adapter or curved nozzle", page
15).
– Insert the extraction adapter 14 or the curved nozzle 15 in-
to the power tool's dust extraction outlet.
When using the extraction adapter 14:
Note: When working with power tools that have a low air feed
into the vacuum hose (e.g. jigsaws, sanders, etc.), the air dif-
fuser 26 of the extraction adapter 14 must be opened. This
will improve the total output of the vacuum cleaner and the
power tool.
To do so, turn the ring above the air diffuser 26 until the big-
gest possible opening is produced.
