Charging processes vary in length. The charging process of a large battery with a capacity of e.g., 120 Ah,
depending on the condition of the battery (battery is old or new; battery is flat or deeply discharged, etc.), can
in fact take several days.
If the open-circuit voltage of the battery is between 3 v and 10.5 v, the charging process begins with a
special refreshing programme (pulse charging). This special program is indicated by the first red LED of a
charging channel (Figure 2, Item 5) flashing quickly and conditions the battery through pulse charging. As
soon as the battery voltage exceeds 10.5 v again, the charger switches over to the normal, already
set-up charging mode. The first red LED (Figure 2, Item 5) now flashes slowly again.
If the no-load voltage of a 12 v battery is less than 3 v or if the battery has high impedance, the charger
indicates this fact with "Error" (Figure 2, Item 9). Such batteries are generally so damaged that they can
no longer be charged.
• End the charging process when the green LED of a charging channel stays lit. Then disconnect the battery from
the charger or press the button "Mode" repeatedly until all of the LEDs of the charging channel are off.
When there is no other battery to be charged, switch off the charger again with the switch for ON/OFF (Figure 1,
Item 1). The LED on the switch turns off. Disconnect the power adapter from the mains plug, if the product is not to
be used for a longer period of time.
There is a reverse current when the charger is no longer connected to a power supply while still
connected to a battery or when the charger / the charging channel is no longer switched on and thus the
battery is discharged. Therefore we recommend connecting the batteries to the charger permanently only
when batteries or vehicles are regularly charged or moved.
