• In addition, the brush edge (11c) prevents excessive
dust formation. The bristles help to contain the dust
produced during grinding enabling it to be disposed
of by the suction system.
• Make sure that the brush edge (11c) is intact each
time before starting work with this power tool. Have
it replaced if you notice any damage or wear.

Dust extraction (Fig. 6, 7, 8)
m Warning
When working on lead-based paint for example,
harmful/toxic gases may be produced. These pose a
danger both to the user and to persons in the vicinity!
Therefore, only use this power tool with a dust ex-
traction device and additionally protect yourself
and other persons in the working area with suita-
ble personal protective equipment!
A large amount of dust is generated when working with
this product. Dust extraction is very useful to keep your
work area clean. A chip extraction system or a hoover
can be connected to the suction hose (13), which is
connected to the connection for dust extraction.
1.
Align the nose at the end of the suction hose (13)
with the hose adapter (13a).
2.
Insert the hose adapter (13a) into the suction connec-
tion (1 or 5a) and secure it as shown in Figs. 6 and 7.
3.
Connect the vacuum cleaner adapter to a suitable
dust extraction device such as a hoover (Fig. 8).
Note: Make sure that the product is suitable for use
with an power tool.

Connecting to the power supply (Fig. 1)
1.
Ensure that the product is switched off. Always put
the on/off switch (6) in the off position first before
connecting it to the power supply.
2.
Insert the mains plug into a properly installed
socket that meets the appropriate requirements
per the technical data.
3.
Your product is now ready for use.

9.1
Setting the speed (Fig. 9)
Before starting work, set the speed to suit the appli-
cation. Use a low speed for coarse grinding work, in-
crease the speed for fine work.
The speed can be adjusted using the speed control (6a):
• Turn towards MIN to reduce the speed.
• Turn towards MAX to increase the speed.
9.2
Switching the product on/off (Fig. 10)
• Switching on: Press the on/off switch (6).
• Continuous operation: Secure the on/off switch (6)
with the locking knob (6b).
• Switching off: Briefly press the on/off switch (6).
Note: The tool attachment continues to rotate a little after
it has been switched off. Wait until the tool attachment
has come to a standstill before putting the product down.
9.3
Sanding
1.
Apply suitable sandpaper (11a) as described in 8.4.
2.
Select a suitable speed (see 9.1).
3.
Hold the product securely by the handles (2/5, 9).
4.
Switch on the product (see 9.2).
5.
Wait until the tool attachment has reached its full
working speed.
6.
Guide the grinding disc (11b) as parallel as possible
to the wall and place it with the brush edge (11c) first
on the surface to be worked on.
7.
Apply some pressure on the grinding head (11)
to bring the tool attachment into contact with the
surface to be worked.
8.
Move the product over the surface with even
movements.
Note: Do not hold the product in one place for too long
to avoid uneven sanding results.
9.
Lift the grinding disc (11b) from the surface to be
worked on before switching off the product.
10. Wait until the tool attachment has come to a
standstill before putting the product down.
9.4
Grinding a ceiling (Fig. 11)
• When working on a ceiling area, fix the grinding
head (11) in place using the split pin (14) (included in
the scope of delivery) as shown in Figure 11.
