Mounting options

When the CAPIX pixel string is connected to the appropriate SCU (Streaming Control Unit) it complies with
type of protection IP65. The mounting brackets are made of a stainless chrome-nickel alloy and are therefore
sensitive to atmospheres containing chlorine. CAPIX must not be used in indoor swimming pools or near
outdoor swimming pools.
Materials and LEDs generally age faster at high temperatures. To avoid this, the equipment should not be
mounted on surfaces that directly face the sun.
The minimum bending radius perpendicular to the width of the cable is 10mm.
The strings have a predefined pixel spacing. Unless otherwise indicated, the preset pixel spacing as specified
in the product data sheet (available separately) relates to an ambient temperature of 20° C.
Important: Make sure that the pixel pitch provided on the support structure is not greater than the
predetermined pixel pitch. For example, greater pitch may be the result of expansion due to wind
load, ice load or heat.
The ambient temperature range for operation is defined as –30° C to +50° C. The temperature of the ambient
air or adjacent materials must not be outside this range when CAPIX is being operated. The pixels must not
be cast in any materials.
Fixing
Each pixel must be fixed with the mounting bracket supplied. There is a choice of two mounting brackets.
See "Fixing options". Important: Every pixel has to be latched with all 4 hooks into the fixed mounting
bracket.
Only mount CAPIX via the mounting brackets. Do not mount a pixelstring freely by fastening only the
cable. Each Pixel has to be mounted.
The feed-in cable must be attached with a minimum spacing of 1m from the SCU to the first pixel. The cable
must be attached at least once per meter to an appropriate support structure. The cable must not be under
tension but must hang loosely at the pixels and at the points of attachment. The feeder cable should be
attached by cable ties or similar with a width of about 5mm. The support structure should be dimensioned to
withstand all foreseeable loads, in particular ice, snow and wind loads.
The precisely defined pixel and string positions are described in installation plan which is delivered with the
system.
