3. Operation
Power-up
•
Turn the unit on using the main switch (C);
•
The display shows the software version;
•
If no Unit has been paired yet, the ControlPad displays the Setup page to allow wireless pairing of one or two Units;
Note: configure only one ControlPad at a time. Do not pair Units with more than one ControlPad simultaneously.
•
If the Unit has already been paired to the ControlPad, the Home page will be displayed, showing the last
temperature and timer settings.
Note: if the set starting mode is
instrument starts working at the last set temperature setpoint with the remaining timer duration.
Unit Pairing and Unpairing with ControlPad
•
F1 – Available Units Windows: displays the serial number and status of all units within the range of the ControlPad.
The possible status are:
➢ UNPAIRED: Unit is available and not yet paired with the ControlPad
→ The Unit can be paired;
➢ OFFLINE: Unit is paired but not currently connected
→ The Unit is paired, but not available for operation (e.g., powered off);
➢ ONLINE: Unit is paired and connected to the ControlPad.
→ The Unit is ready for use;

To pair and connect a Unit to the ControlPad (status of the Unit: UNPAIRED):
➢ Touch the window of the unit to be paired. The window becomes highlighted;
➢ Press the "CONNECT" button (P2);
➢ The pairing process will start. Once the Unit is connected, its status changes to "ONLINE".

To disconnect and unpair a Unit from the ControlPad (status of the Unit: ONLINE or OFFLINE):
➢ Touch the window of the Unit to be deleted. The window becomes highlighted;
➢ Press the "DELETE" button (P3);
➢ The deletion process will start. If the Unit is powered on (ONLINE), once deleted, its status will change to
"UNPAIRED". If the unit is not powered (OFFLINE), once deleted, it will disappear from the list.
•
A maximum of two units can be paired to one ControlPad;
•
Touch the "X" button (P1) to exit the Setup page and access the Home page;
•
The instrument is now ready for use.

Operation with external probe
•
Turn off the instrument using the main switch (C);
•
Screw the threaded support rod into its seat on the back of the instrument (optional);
•
Fasten the clamp onto the support rod (optional);
•
Place the external temperature probe into the clamp (optional); then place it into the sample or the dedicated hole of
the aluminum blocks
(see chap.
4), the heating and timer functions are not active. Otherwise, the
