2 Safety

This section of the operating instructions presents a comprehensive overview of all important
safety aspects for optimal protection of the operating personnel as well as for safe, trouble-
free operation. Non-observance of the handling and safety instructions presented in these
Operating Instructions can result in serious dangers.

2.1 Intended use

All individual components of the Glassmanagement equipment have been conceived and tested
only for the intended uses described here. All other activities are fundamentally prohibited.
• All products and components are to be used only for glassmanagement in accident
rescue and the associated removal of single-pane safety glass (ESG) and laminated
safety glass (LSG).
• The spring centre punch is only to be used for single-pane safety glass.
• GLAS-EX and GLAS-EX TURBO should only be used for laminated safety glass.
• Creation of a supply and exemption opening for cars, trucks and buses.
• Rescue workers and injured persons must be adequately protected from shards and
dust during the work.
