6.3.2
Calibration for fill level detection (BCS...-FH...)
Smart-Level sensors can be used for many standard
applications ex factory without needing calibration.
Calibration is only necessary in exceptional cases.
Full calibration
With a full calibration, the fill level should cover approx.
50% of the active area.
Performing calibration:
1. Fill the application.
2. Perform full calibration (see
Full calibration on
page 14).
Empty calibration
For reliable switch-off despite any present build-up or foam
formation, empty calibration can be performed in critical
applications.
Performing calibration:
1. Fill the application.
2. Empty the application so that
typical build-up forms.
3. Perform empty calibration
(see Empty calibration on
page 14).
6.3.3
Calibration for leak application
Perform empty calibration after installation (see Empty
calibration on page 14).

Leak
1)
A sensor with SL0 object detection is best suited for leak detection. An
1)
SL50 fill level detection sensor can also be used for critical applications
(e.g. humid environments).
