Function
Sensors from the BCS R08RRE-... product family work
according to the capacitive measuring principle and are
used for object detection or fill level detection. They detect
objects and levels even through glass and plastic walls of
approx. 0.5...6 mm.
Measurement technology
The BCS R08RRE-...-12... sensors with SL0 standard
technology are used to detect conductive or non-
conductive solids or media (e.g. plastic granulate, wood,
etc.). They can also be used for leak monitoring.
The BCS R08RRE-...-FH... sensors with the SL50 Smart-
Level measuring principle are used to detect the level of
conductive liquids. Container walls made of plastic or glass
and any foam formation or build-up on the container wall
are suppressed.

Interface
The BCS R08RRE-G... sensors with switching outputs
have a push-pull output stage that can be used as a PNP
or NPN output. The DI input (pin 2) can be used for
calibration.
The BCS R08RRE-PI... sensors with IO-Link have an
IO-Link communication interface that enables direct
access to the process and diagnostic data or the
configuration of the sensor. They can be parameterized
during operation.
An IO-Link master is required for communication via the
IO-Link interface. Without an IO-Link master, the sensor
can be used immediately in conventional switching mode
(SIO mode).
The function of the inputs and outputs (pins) can be
permanently configured via IO-Link. Output C/Q (pin 4) is
configured ex works as a push-pull normally open contact.
Pin 2 is configured ex works as a DI input for calibration
(teach-in).
