Type plate: symbols – explanation

Protective insulation. Devices with this symbol
are protected by additional insulation and may be
operated using a two-pole connection cable
without a protective conductor (earthing).
Suitable for indoor use only. For marking
electrical equipment that is intended primarily for
indoor use.
Read the user guide. Indicates that the
operating instructions or the operating card should
be read before continuing using the product.
Nominal duty cycle. Maximum activation time
(switch-on time) followed by a minimum deac-
tivation time (switch-off time) required for safe
operation of the product.
CE marking. Used to symbolise the conformity of
the product with the applicable requirements that
the European Community places on the man-
ufacturer.
UKCA marking. Used to symbolise the
conformity of the product with the applicable
requirements imposed on the manufacturer by the
United Kingdom.
Recycling symbol . Used to indicate conformity
with the regulations for Waste Electric and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the Electrical
and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). Electrical
and electronic products must be disposed of
separately from household waste at the end of their
service life.
If present, the CE marking is located on the underside of
the desktop and can be viewed at any time.
