To establish a connection with NFC, proceed as follows:
1. Switch on NFC on your cell phone or device.
2. Bring the NFC antenna of the cell phone or device close to the NFC tag of the scanner.
3. When prompted by the phone, click "Yes" to establish the connection.

Scan-to-Pair

In HID mode, the scanner supports the "Scan-to-Pair" function. You can create a barcode with the MAC
address of the target device; scanning this barcode automatically pairs the Rockscan W100 with the target
device.
To create a barcode for the "Scan-to-Pair" function, proceed as follows:
1. Determine the Bluetooth MAC address of the device to which the Rockscan W100 is to be paired. The
procedure varies depending on the device. Consult the device's operating instructions for more
information.
2. Create a barcode in any format supported by the Rockscan W100. The barcode must contain the MAC
address in the following format: @XXXXXXXXXXXX@ (X represents the 12-digit MAC address).
3. Print or save this barcode for later use.
4. Scan the barcode when you want to pair with the device.

Disconnect

To release the connection between the barcode scanner and the computer, you must release the connection
on your connected device. This works differently depending on the system. Please refer to the manual for
your product.
Under Windows 11 this works as follows:
1. Open the settings with the key combination Win+I.
2. Go to Bluetooth and devices.
3. Click on the Disconnect button under the desired Bluetooth device.
4. Confirm the disconnection when prompted.
The device should now be successfully disconnected from your Windows 11 system.

Scanning Process

The device has an integrated high-performance barcode scanner. With this reader, you can process 1D and
2D barcodes of all types electronically. This section explains how to use the barcode scanner.
How to scan a barcode:
1. Make sure that an application is open on the device that accepts the data to be read.
2. Press the scan trigger on the device or the connected accessory and point the device at the barcode.
The red laser aiming pattern lights up and helps with aiming.
3. The device vibrates, the LED lights up green and a beep sounds as standard when the barcode has
been successfully decoded.
