13.6 Changing the gear oil

P Dismantle oil filter protection
P Dismantle oil filter
P Allow the oil to drain off completely
P Remove filler plug and oil level check point
P Replace filter element (Art. No.: KT-00-00797)
P Mount oil filter and oil filter protection properly
P Fill up gear oil to the oil level check point
(quantity approx. 2.7l)
-> Oil grade 20W50 standard, 15W50 for colder regions.
P Close check point and filler plug again
-> If necessary, replace sealing ring
Operate the vehicle for approx. 1 minute and check the
oil level again.
Due to the impact air has on efficiency in hydrostatic
drive applications, it is important that it is flushed out
of the system. Air causes inefficiency because its
compression and expansion rate is higher than that of oil
approved for use in hydrostatic drive systems. These flus-
hing operations should always be performed when a
hydrostatic system has been opened to facilitate mainte-
nance or to change the oil.
