For sharpening an assortment of tools, especially tools requiring
larger bevel angles. Provides stable platform.
Using the Tool Rest:
1. Loosen the knob and slide onto the Support Arm
2. Adjust Tool Rest and Support Arm accordingly for the desired
grinding angle
Note: The Grinding Angle Set-Up Jig can be used in conjunction
with the Tool Rest to set-up the desired new angle (see 'Using the
Grinding Angle Set-Up Jig').
Note: The Tool Rest can be used with the Leather Honing Wheel if
honing of the tool is required.

Using the Diamond Truing Tool:
1. Fix the Diamond Truing Tool to the Support Arm as shown in
the picture, with the Diamond Truing Tip (3) 昀氀ush with the
Grindstone surface
2. Tighten the Fixing Knobs (2)
3. Run the Whetstone Sharpener and use the back end of the
Truing Tool Square Tube (5) to control the rate of material being
removed
Note: Start at the edge of the Grindstone and slowly work across
the stone, ideally take approximately 30–60 seconds to carry out
one pass across.
Note: For a deeper removal, make more smaller depth 30–60
second passes across the Grindstone rather than fewer, deeper
passes. More smaller depth passes will create an even surface.

Using the Turning Gouge Jig:
• Suitable for sharpening gouging hand tools
Note: The jig is in two parts with the point only resting in the
groove of the part connected to the Jig Mounting Bar. Once
correctly set, the tool being sharpened can be rotating the point in
the Point Groove (2)
1. Ensure whetstone sharpener is switched off
2. Assemble jig loosely as shown in image
3. Make adjustments to the jig angle on the Jig Mounting Bar
(7), Point Angle Adjustment (3), Height of the tool in the Tool
Mounting (4) so that the tool is presented to the Sharpening
Point (6) at the right angle to sharpen the blade
4. Rotate the jig carefully ensuring the Point is always tensioned
slightly against the Point Groove (2) as you sharpen the circular
blade of the gouging tool
Note: The jig is designed in two parts so the operator can adjust
the angle and position by hand for different shape and size
gouging tools and also be further quenched to prevent damage to
the tool metal.
