DISPOSAL

Defective or old solar modules must be disposed of properly and must not be disposed of

with household waste. The disposal of solar modules is regulated in the European Directi-

ve 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The WEEE Directive

is national in nature, meaning that each EU member state has its own legal regulations

and practical procedures for the sale and return of PV modules. The respective national

disposal directive must therefore be observed.

Solarwatt fulfils all obligations arising from the WEEE Directive in the respective EU

countries in which Solarwatt acts as a distributor. The corresponding national registration

numbers are listed in the table at the end of the chapter. In addition, Solarwatt coope-

rates with partners who specialise in the actual recycling of solar modules in order to

enable the best possible reuse of our solar module materials.

This also applies to the disposal of packaging, insofar as national disposal guidelines

exist.
