f Switch the dust collector on. Pull out the EMERGENCY STOP button and depress the
green START button.
f Pull the the lever on the drive unit towards the hand grip (No.239) and check the direc-
tion and the speed of the machine.
f The direction of travel can be changed with the forward / reverse switch.
f Blasting is only allowed in the direction in which the operator has to walk backwards.
f The speed is regulated by the speed regulator on the lower right end of the control pa-
nel.
f Drive the machine to the place where blasting should begin.
f Turn the star-delta switch of the turbine motor from the star to the triangle position.
The correct direction of the blast wheel
Make sure that the blast wheel is turning in the correct direction. The correct direction of
rotation is marked with a red arrow on the belt guard (see picture of belt guard No. 177).
If the blast wheel turns in the wrong direction, turn the switch back to the 0 position. Then
press the emergency stop switch and pull out the plug from the mains.

The mains plug is designed as a phase inverter. By inserting and turning a slotted

screwdriver, two phases are reversed and the turbine will start up in the correct direction
of rotation.
f Turn the star-delta switch back to the star position.
f Wait until the turbine motor is running at maximum speed and then turn the switch to
the triangle position.
f Operate the dead man›s switch lever (No. 237-239).
f The Shotblaster machine then starts moving slowly with a time delay.
Slowly open the shot / abrasive valve using the shot lever (see picture 2.3.1, control pa-
nel labels, No. 8).
f Do not start the blasting process when the machine is at a standstill, as you will then
blast deep holes into the ground.
