3. Proper use

The equipment may be used indoors in a free
standing position or outdoors in a weather-protec-
ted area (not in the rain). Allow for the minimum
clearances listed in section 5.1 Installation. The
equipment is not suitable for heating baby chan-
ging tables or for drying towels and textiles.
Do not cover the equipment – risk of fi re! The hea-
ter warms objects or persons at which it is pointed
but does not directly heat the air in the process.
The equipment is to be used only for its prescri-
bed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a
case of misuse. The user / operator and not the
manufacturer will be liable for any damage or inju-
ries of any kind caused as a result of this.
Please note that our equipment has not been de-
signed for use in commercial, trade or industrial
applications. Our warranty will be voided if the
machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial
businesses or for equivalent purposes.

5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Warning!
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
5.1 Assembly
Warning!
Keep a minimum distance of 200 cm between
the front grille and any objects (e.g. curtains),
walls and other structural elements. There must
be a clearance of 50 cm between the side of the
equipment and any objects or walls which are not
within the radius of radiation. The distance to the
ceiling must be at least 50 cm.

5.1.1 Free-standing installation (Fig. 2 – 4)
Warning!
The equipment is allowed to be used only when
standing on a stable surface and fully assembled.
It is prohibited to operate the equipment on an
instable surface (e.g. on a bed).
Fig. 2 - 3: Place the base cover (10) over the
cast base (11). Note the notch (A) and use
the cover (12) and special screw (13) to se-
cure the bottom stand pipe (14) (note notch)
to the base.
Fig. 4: Remove the screws (B) and plug the
middle stand pipe (15) onto the bottom stand
pipe (14). Screw the two stand pipes together.
Fig. 5 – 7: Remove the screw (C) from the
telescopic tube (3). Undo the locknut (4) a
little and push the telescopic tube (3) into the
top stand pipe (16). Pull out the telescopic
tube (3) by approx. 15 cm and retighten the
locknut (4).
Fig. 8: Remove the screws (B) and plug the
top stand pipe (16) onto the middle stand
pipe (15). Screw the two stand pipes together.
Fig. 9: Place the heater housing (1) onto the
telescopic tube (3). Be sure to hold the tele-
scopic pipe steady with one hand as you do
so. Then use the screw (C) to secure the hea-
ter housing to the telescopic pipe (3).

The heater is now fully assembled and ready for

operation.

6. Operation
Important. Before using the equipment for the fi rst
time, check that the voltage supply is the same
as the voltage details set out on the rating plate.
Read the safety regulations in section 1.
When the equipment is used for the fi rst time or
after a long period of rest, it may emit an odor for
a short time. This is not a fault.
If black spots appear on the heating elements du-
ring the fi rst minutes of operation, this will aff ect
neither the quality nor performance of the heater.
