Problem

Device doesn't turn on
No sound
Blown fuse
Excessive skipping
Probable cause
Misconnection of yellow and/or red wires
Misconnection of black wire
Blown fuse
Misconnection of loudspeaker wires
Bare loudspeaker wires are in contact with each other or
with chassis ground
Yellow and/or red wires are in contact with chassis ground
Loudspeaker wires are in contact with chassis ground
Wrong fuse rating
Improper mounting
Probable solution
Check the connection of yellow and red wires
Check the connection of black wire to the ground
Replace the fuse
Check the connection of loudspeaker wires
Insulate all bare speaker wires from each other
and chassis ground
Insulate wires from chassis ground, replace
the fuse
Insulate wires from chassis ground, replace
the fuse
Use the fuse with the correct rating
Check mounting sleeve and back strap support,
remount the car radio
