Troubleshooting
Problem
Tool will not start
Tool stalls or lacks power
Excessive vibration or noise
Drill bits are burning workpiece

Possible cause
No power
Power supply circuit breaker tripped, or
fuse blown
Motor brushes worn or sticking
ON/OFF Trigger Switch (21)
Motor or motor bearings at fault
Workpiece material not suitable for tool
Dust Port (22) clogged
Drill bits dull or damaged
Motor brushes worn out
Extension cord gauge too small or cord
too long
Motor overheated
Faulty motor or motor bearings
Loose components
Drill bits dull or damaged
Workpiece loose
Faulty motor bearings
Drill bits dull or damaged
Solution
Check power supply
Check circuit is free of shorts. Reset circuit
breaker or replace fuse
Replace brushes
Have the ON/OFF Trigger Switch replaced
at an authorised Triton service centre
Have the tool serviced by an authorised
Triton service centre
Only drill into wood and ensure wood is
not damp
Clear Dust Port
Sharpen or replace
Replace brushes
Use shorter extension cord or the correct
gauge
Switch OFF the tool and let it cool down to
room temperature. Inspect and clean the
ventilation slots
Have the tool serviced by an authorised
Triton service centre
Tighten if loose. Replace damaged or
missing fasteners
Sharpen or replace
