Starting locomotive operation
Operating instructions: Beforeuseis advisable
to let the loco go around about 30 minutes for-
wards and 30 minutes backwards without load, to
obtain an optimal circuit and best tractive power.
The smallest radius this model should run is R2 of
the ROCO track system(R2= 288,2 mm).
Your locomotivewill run smoothlyon clean tracks
only. For this purposewe recommendusing item
no.25093, Roco track cleaning van, or item no.
10002, Rocotrack cleaning rubber, for remo-
ving heavy dirt.
Installation
for the close-coupling: For the
installationof the close-coupling the following
two articles of the Fleischmann*-production-pro-
gramm will be needed:item no. 9572 (the adap-
ter) and item no. 9570 (the coupling-device,
adjustable for height) (see fig. 1). Before the
installation please removethe body of the loco
(seefig. 2).

constructedfor both, overheadcurrent pickupand
current pickup from the tracks (pleasesee fig. 3).
If this loco will be usedon a layoutwith intact
overhead cables (no matter if with overhead cur-
rent pickup or current pickup from the tracks) the
switch must be set either on pure current pickup
or on pure current pickupfrom the tracks asother-
wise - under use of a least two locos with exten-
ded pantographs - and a switch-position as
shownin fig. 3 therewill be a risk of a short-cir-
cuit. Prior to this removeloco body (fig. 2).
Multiple train-running: Fig.3: Forthe installati-
on of the decoder pleasecontact a ROCO-dealer
resp. a special studio! Should there be any
troubles with your loco and should you therefore
haveto sendit to the factoryfor anyreperations,
please remove any eventually installed modules
before,as we will not be able to accept responsi-
