must be observed for electrical systems and equipment, etc., e.g. regarding the prevention of accidents. As the
operator, you are obliged to collect information on this from the appropriate offices and authorities and you are
responsible for compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
Do not place any containers with liquid, e.g. glasses, buckets, vases or plants in the immediate proximity of the
product. Liquids could seep into the casing and in doing so impair the electrical safety of the device. There is also
a significant risk of fire or a fatal electric shock. If this is the case, de-energize the respective socket (e.g. switch
off circuit breaker) and only then pull the plug-in mains unit from the socket. Disconnect all cables from the device.
After that, the product must no longer be used; take it to a specialist workshop.
Do not place open sources of fire, such as burning candles, on or directly next to the device.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or splashing water, strong vibrations or high mechanical
stress.
Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
Protect the product from direct sunlight.
Never plug the power plug into a mains socket immediately after the device was taken from a cold to a warm
environment. The condensation water generated could destroy the product.
7.5 Operation
Never operate the device unsupervised.
The design of this product complies with safety class I. The only permissible voltage source is a proper mains
socket of the public supply network with an earthing contact.
Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental
use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
7.6 Mains cable
Do not modify or repair mains supply components including mains plugs, mains cables, and
power supplies. Do not use damaged components. Risk of death by electric shock!
The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it from the mains socket using the
intended grips.
Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an extended period of time.
Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket in thunderstorms for reasons of safety.
Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or put under mechanical stress.
Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or cold.
Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the mains cable may be damaged. A damaged mains cable can cause
a deadly electric shock.
