Always make sure that the workplace is well

Avoid over-stressing the product while

working.
Regular cuts
Verify the saw blade is not touching the
o
workpiece. Then, switch on the product.
Apply the base plate
o
Use even pressure, advancing at a steady
o
pace when making your cut. You can make
horizontal, diagonal, or vertical cuts.
When you are finished: First, switch off the
o
product. Then, pull the saw blade out of the
workpiece.
Plunge cuts

Do not use the orbital action for plunge cuts.

Otherwise the saw blade
There is a risk of serious personal injury.
Plunge cuts are very challenging and are
 
associated with a higher risk of injuries. Only
use this technique if you are familiar with it.
Plunge cuts may only be carried out in soft
 
materials such as wood or plasterboard and
with short blades (max. length 160 mm). There
is a risk of kickback and personal injury.
Place the front edge of the base plate
o
the workpiece so that the saw blade does not
touch the workpiece.
Turn the product on. Let the saw blade slowly
o
plunge into the workpiece.
When the workpiece depth has been cut
o
through, continue sawing as usual.
Flush cuts
(Fig. K)
Make sure that the saw blade is always longer
 
than the pipe diameter. There is a risk of
kickback and personal injury.
With elastic bi-metal saw blades you can sepa-
o
rate water pipes, for example, flush to the wall.

WARNING!
Always switch the product off and let the
product cool down before performing
inspection, maintenance and cleaning
work!
˜ Cleaning
NOTE
Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive or

other aggressive detergents or disinfectants
to clean this product as they might be
harmful to its surfaces.
Never allow fluids to get into the product.
 
The product must always be kept clean, dry
o
and free from oil or grease. Remove debris
from it after each use and before storage.
Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure
o
safe use and prolong the life of the product.
Clean the product with a dry cloth. Use a soft
o
brush for areas that are hard to reach.
In particular clean the air vents after every use
o
with a cloth and soft brush.
The vents must always be clear.
o
˜ Maintenance
The product is maintenance-free.
o
Before and after each use, check the product
o
and accessories (e.g. saw blades) for wear
and damage. If required, exchange them
for new ones as described in this instruction
manual.
Observe the technical requirements
(see "Technical data").
Check covers and safety devices for damages
o
and correct installation. Replace as necessary.
Replace a blunt or bent saw blade or one
o
which has been damaged in some other way.
