4 Safety
This section provides an overview of all the important safety aspects for the protection of per-
sons and for safe and fault-free operation. Further task-based safety information is included in
the sections relating to the individual life cycle phases.
4.1 Safety instructions
RK Rose+Krieger GmbH has built this linear unit to the state-of-the-art and in accordance with
the existing safety regulations. Nonetheless, this linear unit may pose risks to persons and
property if it is used incorrectly or not for the intended purpose or if the safety instructions are
disregarded. Correct operation and careful maintenance will guarantee high performance and
availability of this linear unit.
Faults or conditions which can impair safety are to be rectified immediately.
Any person involved with the installation, use, operation or maintenance of this linear unit
must have read and understood the assembly instructions.

Only nominated persons (⮱ „3.3 Who may use, install and operate this linear unit" on
page 42) may use, install and operate this linear unit. All work on and with the linear unit
may only be carried out in accordance with the present instructions. It is therefore essential that
these instructions are ready to hand in the vicinity of the linear unit and kept in a safe place.
The general, national and company safety regulations must be observed. The responsibilities
for the use, installation and operation of this linear unit must be unambiguously laid down
and observed so that no questions of competence arise in relation to safety aspects. Before
any commissioning, the user must ensure that no persons or objects are in the danger area of
the linear unit. The user may only operate the linear unit when it is in a flawless condition. Any
change is to be reported to the nearest line manager immediately.
