8KES1 and 8KES2 are designed for applications up to
and including SIL2. As 8KES1 and 8KES2 are one-chan-
nel systems, the position of the contacts must be evalu-
ated through X2.3, X2.6 and X2.7 by, e.g., a PLC so that
errors can be detected

Connect the network cable of the EFCm-02 (connector X3
to EFCm-02) to the PoE switch 9A3 (use ports P1 to P4).
The Modular part is powered via the PoE.
The network cable shield can also be grounded:
to do this, use the shield clamp and fix it in place with a
cable tie.

onnect servo Motor cable
When connecting the SUHNER Power-Hub EFCm-02 to
the servo motor, the motor cable which was part of the
delivery must be used.
3.8.1 P
hase conductor
Mount the contact plate of the motor cable shield to the
shield clamp and fix in place with a cable binder. Con-
nect the ground conductor of the motor cable to the PE
terminal.
Connect the ground conductor of the motor cable to the
PE terminal of 7U1. Connecting the phase conductors:

Make sure that the screws of terminals R- and UDC+ are
tight. This step must also be performed if no cables are
connected to the terminals.

The servo motor of the EFCm-02 is equipped with a PTC
temperature sensor.

Connect the connections of the temperature sensor to the
additional module L515 of 7U1 (Drive):

Connect the network cable from EFC to the switch
8A1/9A4. The port can be chosen as desired. The shield
of the network cable can also be grounded. To do this,
use the shield clamp and fix it in place with a cable tie.

Each EFCm-02 parameter corresponds to 2 bytes.
The byte sequence is big-endian (MSB first).
