Prior to first use

Set-up

1. Place the length of the connecting cable that is not needed in the base of the
device.
2. Place the device on a stable surface that is impervious to water.
Do not operate the appliance at altitudes higher than 1500m above sea
level.
3. Connect the mains plug to a protective earthed socket.

Start-up

1. Switch on the appliance using the On/Off button (4). Because the water tank
(11) is still empty, the On / Off button (4) flashes yellow.
2. Fill the water tank (11) to its max mark with cold tap water.
For an easy removal of the water tank (11), tip it slightly back and pull it up to
remove.
Never fill with warm water, carbonated water or other liquids, such as
milk or the like.
3. Place the water tank (11) into the appliance. A short time later the On / Off
button (4) will flash white.
4. Ensure that the empty pad cartridge (9) is inserted and turn the adjusting
knob (10) to the position
Note: Without the inserted pad cartridge (9), the adjusting knob (10) will not
turn to this position.
5. Place two large cups directly next to each other on the grate insert (1) (see
figure).
You can use cups with a height of up to 10 cm.
6. Press one of the two start buttons
heating system with water. During start-up, the number of rinse procedures
required will be indicated electronically. If more than one rinse procedure
is required, each procedure is terminated after 45 seconds and the On / Off
button (4) will flash white again.
7. Where necessary, empty the catch basin, fill the water tank (11) to its max
mark with cold tap water and press one of the two start buttons
(5) again.
8. if you rinsed sufficiently, the On / Off button (4) will light up red and the
water will be heated. Turn the adjusting knob (10) to the home position
Do not intervene with rinsing procedure. Do not remove the water tank
(11) except if the On / Off button (4) is flashing (white) and water tank (11)
must be refilled and do not unplug the mains plug because you will have to
restart the start-up.
