Fitting the Engine
10. Drill a small piece of scrap right-angled aluminium 10 mm and fit the filling valve. this is then screwed to the firewall with 2 small
screws at the position X on template 3. Ensure that the valve clears the exhaust (test first) as shown in the photo.
11. Before inserting the tank, bend the tube 90° (a wheel from a Mecano set is perfect for this) and fit the fuel tube. Check that everything
fits correctly and clears the engine mount. Once you are happy glue the tank inside the model with silicon.
12. If everything now fits correctly, permanently mount the engine.
13. To improve the airflow around the engine for better cooling a baffle should be fitted to the inside of the cowl. Template 4 (page 25)
shows the shape of the baffle.
14. To improve the appearance of the model, the cowl may be painted blue on the inside and a permanent marker pen used to colour the
edges.
15. Make extensions for the needle valve and choke from wire
and drill corresponding holes in the cowl.
