2. Description and operating principle

The pressure gauges measure the pressure differential between two connec-
tion points by means of a piston loaded on both sides, which is supported by
a compression spring.
Pressures p
1
by a magnetic piston under pressure (or magnetic piston and separation
diaphragm for Model 700.02).
The difference in pressure causes an axial movement (measuring travel) of the
piston supported by the compression spring.
The measurement travel resulting from this is taken up by a ring magnet found
on the instrument pointer and indicated on the display. This design combines
the advantages of complete separation of the measuring system and the indi-
cation while eliminating any leakage to the exterior.
For Model 700.01 the volume flow from the measuring j chamber to the
i measuring chamber is minimised by the mechanical design and will not
interfere with the process. These measuring instruments are mainly intended
for applications in gas / air supply systems and their processing, where there
areno magnetic particles present.
In processes with suspended particles, the Model 700.02 should be used.
Further information on the gauge design, see Data Sheet PM 07.14

Serious injuries and/or damage can occur should the ap-
propriate regulations not be observed.
Only appropriately qualified personnel should work on
these instruments.
The effective maximum surface temperature is not only
dependant upon the device, but mainly on the temperature
of the respective pressure medium! For permissible maxi-
mum medium temperatures see table on page 6.
