Levelflex M
Please observe the following installation instructions:
1.) Install in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and the valid standards and regulations.
- Do not operate the level sensor outside of the electrical, thermal and mechanical parameters
2.) The Levelflex M FMP40-.... must be integrated into the local potential matching line (PML).
3.) Only intrinsically-safe signal circuit permitted (for active or passive version):
Minimum requirement for: probe in Zone 20: EEx ia IIB
probe in Zone 21: EEx ib IIB
(intrinsically-safe values, see Tab. 2 and 3)
3.1 The intrinsically-safe signal circuit of the Levelflex M is isolated from ground potential and has a dielectric strength of at least
500 Vrms with respect to it.
3.2 The intrinsically-safe signal circuit of the Levelflex M is galvanically isolated from the power supply circuit up to a peak voltage
of 375 V.
3.3 The connection compartment cover must be mounted before commissioning (voltage activation).
Isolation between an intrinsically-safe signal circuit and a non-intrinsically safe power supply circuit must not be lifted
3.4 Connection compartment cover: "Do not open under voltage".
4.) The relationship between the permitted ambient temperature for the electronics housing, dependent on the range of
application, and the temperature classes is shown in the tables (Tab. 1a FMP40 and Tab. 1b FMP45).
5.) After aligning (rotating) the housing, retighten the fixing screw (see Operating Instructions).
5.1 Only use suitable cable entries for the application
5.2 Continuous duty temperature of the cable ≥ Tamb + 5 K
5.3 The electronics compartment can be opened under voltage for configuring the device. When the electronics compartment
cover is open, ensure that no dust can accumulate. Seal the electronics compartment after adjustment work, tightening torque
≥ 40 Nm
6.) Only install the devices in media for which the wetted materials have sufficient durability.
7.) Install the device to exclude any mechanical damage or friction during the application. Pay particular attention to flow
conditions and fittings.
