2. Technical Standards

The dehumidifiers in the DRYTECH series correspond to the important requirements
of the following European directives:
Machine directives (D.P.R. n° 459 dated 24th July 1996), Electrical safety protection in
devices with low voltage (Law n.791 dated 18th October 1977 and subsequent law
n.626 dated 25th November 1996), Electro magnetic compatibility - EMC- (Law n.476
dated 4th December 1992 and subsequent law n° 615 dated 12th November 1996).
The conformity is confirmed by reference to the following standards:
CEI EN 60335-2-40, CEI EN 55014-1, CEI EN 55104-2, CEI EN 61000-3-2, CEI EN
61000-3-3

3. Description of the equipment

Function
The equipment in the DRYTECH series are dehumidifiers with a cooling circuit based
on condensation. The equipment is run based on physical laws and principles. The
fact that moist air condenses when coming into contact with a cold surface is used for
this purpose.
A cooling machine cools a heat exchanger through which room air is conducted which
cools off in the process and lets moisture drain out as a condensate. The dehumidified
air is conducted through a second heat exchanger which is rinsed out by hot gas. The
air is re-heated in the process, the relative moisture of the air decreases and enables
a re-absorption of moisture in the air space to be dehumidified.
The principle of the process can be seen in the drawing below. The air is sucked in at
the rear of the device, and then flows in this order through the filter (-1-), the cold
vaporiser (-2-) and the condenser (-3-). The air is then blown out from the fan (-4-)
through the grate and enters the room again. The condensed water gathers in the
container (-5-). A micro switch (-6-) turns off the device once the water in the
container has filled to a certain level and thus lifts up the floater. The hygrometer (-7-)
regulates the switching on of the dehumidifier if the air moisture in the room exceeds
the desired limit. The integrated circuit board (-8-) regulates all processes within the
device, such as, for example the defrosting function and the switching on of the
compressor (-9-).
