Electrical connections
Danger
Only qualified electricians are permitted to
G
undertake the electrical connections and
any repair work.
Do not operate the fan with other rated
G
voltages than stated on the manufacturer's
identification plate.
G The valid local safety regulations must be
taken into account during the installation and
the electrical installation, especially DIN VDE
0100 together with the relevant subsections.
Only connect the fan to a permanent electrical
G
installation. This must be fitted with a device
that disconnects it from the mains and has a
minimum contact opening of 3mm at each
pin.
Connecting the fan:
G Fit the electrical supplies correctly.
G Capacitor connection boxes must be fitted
for EZD ../B and EZD ../D fans:
– 2 white cable support sleeves must be fit-
ted in the capacitor connection box for
surface mounting. For recessed mounting
break out the circular segment at the rup-
ture joint in the rear panel of the box and
insert black cable support sleeves into the
boxes.
– Feed the connection leads through the ca-
ble support sleeves in the connection
boxes.
– Mount the capacitor connection boxes.
– Carry out the capacitor wiring connection
in accordance with the associated circuit
diagram (page 6 onwards).
– Screw on the connection box covers.
Connect the fan in accordance with the circuit

diagram (page 6 onwards).
Install a frequency converter having the follo-
G
wing limit values for speed control:
V < 1,000 V
peak
du/dt < 500 V/μs
A sine-wave filter must be fitted in case these
limit values are exceeded.
Carry out a function test.

Service
Disconnect all power pins from the mains
G
before carrying out any service work – remove
the mains fuse.
Check at least once a year that the bearings
G
run smoothly. If they have to be exchanged for
new bearings, only use bearings lubricated
with the original bearing grease.
