Warning!
Life-threatening danger arising from modifications of the product: The safety
features of this product are an essential requirement for its conformity with DIN
EN 179. No changes which are not described in this manual may be undertaken.
Life-threatening danger arising from inappropriate modification of fire doors:
Fire doors prevent fire from spreading and are tested as a complete unit with
accessories. The door manufacturer must be consulted if the door fitting is to be
replaced with a different model or if a lock is to be retrofitted.
Life-threatening danger due to disregard of the certification: The conformity of
the fire certifications for all door components and the electronic door fitting series
E... must be observed for installation in a fire or smoke door.
Life-threatening danger due to disregard of specifications and regulations
of inspection authorities: The regulations of inspection authorities must be
observed for the installation of the electronic door fitting series E... Specifications of
the door manufacturer must also be observed.
Caution!
Risk of injury due to damage: Damage to the metal parts may cause injury. A
damaged device is a safety risk. Check the packaging and the electronic door fitting
series E... for damage. A damaged device may not be put into operation. Damaged
cables and connector assemblies must not be used either.
Risk of injury due to sharp edges and chips: There is a risk of injury due to sharp
edges and chips from drilling or other cutting work. Take particular care to pro-
tect your eyes with suitable protective goggles. The work may only be performed
by an appropriately qualified person.
