Abhilfe
Stummschaltung des Alarmsignals für 8-9 Min. durch kurzen
Tastendruck.
Stummschaltung kann aufgehoben werden durch Abnehmen
des Melders vom Sockel für 30 Sek. oder durch die Testfunktion:
Langer Tastendruck (min. 3 Sek.) bis ein lauter und pulsierender
Alarmton ertönt.
Störungssignal kann aufgehoben werden durch Abnehmen des
Melders vom Sockel für 30 Sek. Kommt die Störung danach
wieder, muss der Melder ausgetauscht werden.
Vorbeugende Stummschaltung des Alarmsignals für 8-9 Min.
durch kurzen Tastendruck.

FMR 4320 photoelectric smoke detector
By purchasing this item, you have chosen a high-quality GEV
product. Please read these operating instructions carefully
to ensure correct operation and keep them in a safe place so
that you can refer back to them if necessary. Use this product
only as intended (as described in the operating instructions).
Do not alter, modify or paint the device, as this will result in
loss of warranty.
The FMR 4320 is a reliable photoelectric smoke detector for use
in residential buildings and similar premises. It has been designed
to meet the statutory requirements for smoke detectors, by raising
the alarm as soon as smoke is detected.
Most fires occur at night. However, our sense of smell is not active
while we are asleep, which means that we cannot detect smoke.
This is why a smoke detector offers an effective form of protection,
as it gives you an early warning of the imminent danger. An alarm
is triggered as soon as smoke enters the device. The device does
not detect flames.
To minimise maintenance and operating costs, the FMR 4320
comes equipped with a built-in lithium battery offering an extended
service life of 10 years. This means that there is no need to change
the battery. Simply replace the FMR 4320 device when the 10-year
battery life has elapsed. You can also silence the alarm for approx.
8-9 minutes by briefly pressing the button on the device (see Fig.
G3). This reduces the sensitivity of the FMR 4320 and is indicated
by the red LED flashing approx. every 10 seconds. However, if the
density of smoke is too high, the alarm will be triggered once again.
Installation position
To ensure maximum protection of households, smoke detectors
should be installed in all rooms, corridors, basements and store
rooms. Ensure basic protection by installing smoke detectors in all
bedrooms, playrooms and in the corridors on all floors (see Fig. A).
Installation/Commissioning
- Be sure to observe the current national guidelines on installation
and application standards for smoke detectors (e.g. the DIN 14676
in Germany).
NB:
• Mount the detector in the centre of the ceiling.
• Do not install smoke detectors in bathrooms (high
ambient humidity), garages (exhaust fumes), draughty
environments (including, for example, ventilation
outlets/inlets) or in lofts (see Fig. D).
• T he detector can be mounted in the centre of the ceiling in a loft
if the roof slopes at an angle of less than 20°.
• P lease ensure that there is a distance of at least 50 cm between
the device and any walls, ceiling joists (beams), objects and
lights.
• S everal detectors are required in rooms that are larger than
60 m² and in corridors that are longer than 15 m.
• P lease do not exceed a maximum installation height of 6 m. In
rooms with high ceilings, we recommend that you install several
detectors at different levels.
• P lease ensure that there is a distance of at least 4 m between
the device and open fireplaces, cookers, etc.
• S tart by installing the base on the ceiling, as centrally as
possible (see Fig. E).
• Protect the device from dust when drilling holes.
• M ount the detector on its base and turn it in a clockwise
direction until it clicks into place (see Fig. G1).
• T he smoke detector is automatically switched on via the ON/OFF
switch located on the underside of the device (see Fig. F1) as
soon as the detector clicks into place properly on the base (see
Fig. G1). The red LED will flash briefly once every 5 minutes or
