There
are two
units
available
for this
purpose: either Babylog
1 or Babylog 2
(cf. respective operating manuais).

Bronchial aspirator
The aspirator is suspended from the rail
10 which is attached to the Babytherm.
The required vacuum is generated by an
adjustable
ejector,
driven
either
by
compressed
air or oxygen. Secretion is
extracted from the infant's air passages
by using a thin catheter. The rinsing jar
is used
to suck
water
or a detergent
through the catheters.

required
for
oxygen
or compressed
air supply
cf.
item 23.

Oxygen
distributor
with
cylinder
connection
This device can be suspended from the
rail
10
which
is
attached
to
the
Babytherm.
Three
built-in
oxygen
outlets
are
ready
to take
over oxygen
supply of various
units simultaneously
(e.
g.
ventilator,
aspirator,
oxygen
inhalation device).
Oxygen
for the distributor is provided
for either
by
connection
to
a central
supply
unit or via an oxygen
cylinder,
which
has
to
be
ordered
separately.
Pressure gauge and pressure reducer
are
integrated
in
the
distributor,

oxygen connecting hoses cf. item 23.

Oxygen distributor
Essentially, this device corresponds
to
the
oxygen
distributor
with
cylinder
connection
19;
however,
cylinder
connection is dispensed with; oxygen is
solely supplied from the central system.

Pillow to facilitate intubation
A foam
rubber pillow is pushed
under
the baby's head for intubation.
A hollow
for
the
head
and
a
neck
support
facilitate the desirable backwards bend
of the head.

Timer with holder
This
timer
is
designed
for
temporal
monitoring
of resuscitation
measures
that have
to be carried out. It is fitted
with a minute and centre second hand.
Scale diameter:
95 mm;
green starting
knob and red stop-knob, white knob for
resetting.
The
spring
mechanism
has a running
time of roughly 20h.
The
timer
can
be
ciamped
to
the
supporting
rod
of the
infusion
stand
(Fig. 22), to the small
operating
lamp
(Fig. 16) or to one of the supporting rods
of the radiant heater.
