Operating instructions
(for the user and qualified professional)
DHA instantaneous water heaters heat
the water as it flows through the appliance.
As soon as a hot water outlet is opened,
the heating automatically switches on in 2
power stages after the switch-on volume
has been exceeded.
With a low flow volume only half of the
heating power is used, while with a larger
flow volume the full heating power is
automatically switched on (suitable e.g. for
having a bath, taking a shower or washing-
up). The temperature of the water running
out depends on the heating power of the
instantaneous water heater, the volume of
the water flowing through the appliance
and the temperature of the cold water
supply (Tab. 1).

DHA with two grip tap unit
– Basic principle of temperature selection:
after the switch-on volume has been
exceeded, the temperature of the hot
water running out drops as the flow
increases.
– A low volume coming through the tap
means a high outlet temperature, a high
volume coming through the tap means a
low outlet temperature.
– If the temperature is still too high with
the hot water outlet fully turned on, cold
water should be added.
DHA with single hand mixing unit
– Put lever all the way over to the hot
position. Turn tap on full.
– The temperature rises as the tap is
slowly closed.
– The temperature is reduced by adding
cold water or, if possible, by turning the
tap on more.
– When the hot water outlet tap
is turned on, the watertempera-
ture can be higher than 60 ºC.
As a result, keep small children away
from hot water outlet taps.
Danger of scalding!
DHA with thermostat tap unit
– Follow the directions given by the tap
unit manufacturer.
Important information!
Air in the cold water pipe can
damage the DHA tubular heating
element system.
If the water supply to the DHA was cut
off, e. g. because of the danger of frost
or work on the pipe, the following steps
must be performed before putting the
appliance into operation again:
1. Remove fuses or switch them off at
the box.
2. Turn on a hot water outlet connected
downstream of the appliance and leave
it on, until the appliance and the cold
water supply pipe are free of air.
3. Screw in or switch on fuses again.
Maintenance
Maintenance work may only be carried
out by a qualified professional. A summary
of the faults which you can remedy your-
self can be found on page 12.
Cleaning
Use a damp cloth to clean the housing. Do
not use abrasive or etching cleaning agent!
