justed individually to the size of the patient, to do this,
proceed as follows:
Open the snap buckle on one side, adjust the belt
to the desired length and reclose the snap buckle
Now proceed in the same sequence on the oppo-
site side
Or: open the clamping plate with an Allen key,
adjust the belt to the desired length, and then se-
curely screw the clamping plate back again Then
repeat this procedure on the opposite side
The hip belt itself is fitted with one, or, if necessary, two
tensioning straps These enable pressure to be applied
to the pelvis, as desired or tolerated To do this, first
close the hip belt and then pull the flap, or both flaps
simultaneously, to adjust the desired pressure Please
observe the following instructions when applying the
pelvic restraint:
When applying the pelvic restraint, the patient must be
seated as far back as possible in the seat shell, ie the
patient's pelvis must be in contact with the back of the
seat shell In order to ensure this, it may be helpful to
recline the seat shell using the undercarriage tilt-in-
space mechanism until the patient slides comfortably
into the desired position
Important!
The patient must always be secured and
under observation at all times
Pelvic harness
In combination with the AKTIVLINE
pelvic harnesses provide pelvic restraint and feature
materials, which are very well tolerated by the skin and
highly elastic, ensuring the greatest possible range
of motion
The standard and spread form of the pelvic harness
consists of a broader part on which the patient is to
sit with his/her posterior This broad section is fixated
at the back in the seat shell In the front, the plate
splits into two narrower straps The two straps exiting
from the side are pulled upwards between the patient's
legs and then outwards/downwards over the groin The
straps must be spread over the thighs across their en-
tire width
Important!
If positioned incorrectly, the belt cuts
on the inside and causes pain
A T-shaped pelvic harness is positioned and attached
similar to a hip belt on the right and left of the patient's
pelvis, the middle part is attached between the legs
Ensure good positioning of the pelvic harness as this
could otherwise lead to pressure areas
Abduction pommel
An integrated abduction pommel is located under the
cover and cannot be adjusted This is always required in
the case of a foot rest with individual foot supports An
adjustable or removable abduction pommel can be se-
lected for a single-piece foot rest, proceed as follows:
To loosen the abduction pommel, turn the clamp lever
- mounted at the front of the abduction pommel - coun-
terclockwise, this loosens the abduction pommel and
it can simply be pulled out

Then reinsert the abduction pommel in the intended re-
ceptacle and turn the clamp lever clockwise until tight
Then check whether the abduction pommel has its de-
sired position again
Side cushions for the seat, attachable with Velcro
Side cushions with Velcro attachment serve to adapt
to growth These can be removed by a strong pull of
the cushion Zippers allow removal of the covers for
washing Please follow the exact washing instructions
provided for washing the relevant materials
Chest belt
The chest belt is a belt which is attached at each end of
the shell below the patient's armpits and is closed at the
front Various variants of chest belts can be selected
The chest belt embraces the upper body (ribcage) and
prevents the user from falling off the seat
Chest belt with flap
The chest belt with flap has been mounted in the proper
position during adjustment of the seat shell It is pos-
sible to perform minor adjustments to the length using
the hook and loop fastener
To open the belt, proceed as follows:
Pull the front flap upwards
Then pull the overlapping ends of the chest belt
apart
You can then lay the two ends of the chest belt
aside and remove the patient from the seat shell,
as necessary
Repeat these steps in reverse order when applying
the belt to secure the patient in the seat shell
When applying the belt, check to ensure that it is
not constricting the patient; this is especially im-
