medi ROM Kidz
Intended Purpose
The medi ROM Kidz is a universal knee
splint for mobilisation.
Indications
All indications which require early
functional mobilisation and limitation of
the range of motion of the knee joint,
such as:
• Following ligament injury (post-
traumatic/post-operative)
• Following meniscal injury (post-
traumatic/post-operative)
• Following tendon injury (post-
traumatic/post-operative)
Contraindications
None known at present.
Intended patient groups
Healthcare professionals should provide
care to the adults and children, applying
the available information on the
measurements/sizes and necessary
functions/indications and in line with
the information provided by the
manufacturer, and acting under their
own responsibility.
Adjusting the flexion and extension
stops.
• To set the radius of movement, first
loosen the screw (Fig. 1).
• Then turn the plastic opening to one of
the pins (Fig. 2).
• Now you can take the pin out, place it
in a different position and thus set the
desired degree on the brace. Repeat
this for the other articulation (Fig. 3).
• Turn the opening back to the original
position (Fig. 4).
• Finally, tighten the safety screw (Fig. 5)
Limitation of extension:
0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°
Limitation of flexion:
0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°, 105°
Immobilisation: 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°
Fitting instructions
Open all straps and loosen the joint
splints from the pad.
Wrap the pad for the lower and upper leg
around the leg tightly and attach the pad
to the front of the leg (Fig. 6).
First, fasten the lateral (outer) splint to
the pad (Fig. 7). Ensure that the ROM
articulation is aligned on the patella and
the mid-line of the knee. Now fasten the
medial (inner) splint, using the same
method. Ensure that both of the
articulations are level with each other
when doing this. Now close the top lower
leg strap (Fig. 8) first and then close the
bottom upper leg strap (Fig. 9). Then
close the rest of the straps, working from
the bottom of the brace up.
To take off the brace, you simply need to
open the straps and the pad and pull the
brace backwards.
Important notes
Only change the extension and flexion
limits on instruction from your doctor or
orthotist.
