ALPRIDE E2 SUPERCAP
SUPERCAPACITORS
a The E2 Avalanche Airbag System is the first
avalanche airbag that does not use lithium-
ion or lithium-polymer batteries to power the
electric compressor motor, but instead uses
supercapacitors to store energy in the form of an
electrostatic field. Unlike conventional batteries, no
chemical reaction needs to be generated to produce
energy, so the E2 system releases its power more
quickly. The E2's supercapacitors offer several
advantages over rechargeable batteries. They
are not sensitive to temperature fluctuations and
deliver the same power at -30 C as they do at +50
C. Supercapacitors retain their power even after
repeated charging. They can be recharged 500,000
times and have an almost unlimited lifetime
Supercapacitors are considered passive electronic
elements. Therefore, there are no restrictions on
travel, shipping or storage. This is a significant
advantage over conventional rechargeable batteries
and compressed gas cartridge systems.

THE RADIAL COMPRESSOR
a The E2 System uses a radial compressor,
similar to turbo compressors found in cars. This
design allows for high-speed air flow and inflation
pressure equal to compressed air cartridge
avalanche airbag systems.
MICRO USB-C PORT
a The micro-USB-C port (5V – 3A) makes it
possible to recharge the SuperCapacitors using the
USB-C / micro-USB-C cable provided. Charging
can be completed with a standard USB-C charger
(not included), like those used for cell phones.
Recharging the SuperCapacitors with the micro-
USB-C cable takes priority over recharging via
the 2 AA batteries. The SuperCapacitors can be
recharged with the micro-USB-C cable even in the
absence of the AA batteries.
