6. Positioning the exhaust hood and extraction arm

The exhaust arm or hood is easily controllable by hand. The hood keeps the designated position and retains self-supporting. Furthermore the
exhaust hood can be revolved by 360° and therefore be brought to almost any desired position. The correct position of the hood is important in
order to guarantee an optimal smoke extraction. Please see the picture below for the correct positioning and note the following information.
• Position the exhaust arm so that the exhaust hood is located about 12 - 20 inch diagonally above welding position.
• Please consider the smoke movement and extraction range when positioning the exhaust hood.
• Reposition the hood according to the welding point.
If the exhaust hood is positioned incorrectly and if the airlow is too low (< 710 m³/h) the pollutants cannot
be extracted optimally. The pollutants entering the breathing zone can cause damage to the user's health.

7. Maintenance

Except the occasional adjustment of the exhaust arm's joints as well as the necessary ilter replacement, the unit runs maintenance free.
To adjust the joints please note the installation and maintenance instruction of the exhaust arm.

7.1 Filter change

The endurance of a ilter element depends on the amount and the different kinds of dust iltered. The SINOtec-service is responsible for the
change of the ilter cartridges. We recommend that the ilter be changed by SINOtec-service.
Cleaning the ilter elements is prohibited. If cleaned, the ilter
element will be damaged, the unit can no longer function properly
and harmful dust can get into the breathable air. Only use the
original ilters! The ilter change is a potential fault source, e.g.
incorrect installation, damage to the ilter material etc. Because of
the dusts that are a health hazard, the ilter should be replaced by
a trained person in accordance with the operational safety law.
We recommend that the ilter be replaced by SINOtec-service.
This ensures professional and correct replacement of the ilter.
